The new QWERTY handset with touchscreen runs Maemo 5 is great in terms of mobile Internet, cellular connectivity, and entertainment features. The device has 32 GB of storage that can be expanded up to 48 GB. Maemo allows more multitasking because it has strong ties with desktop platforms. The hardware and software constituents of Nokia N900 cell phone include an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, OpenGL ES 2.0, up to 1 GB of application memory, 10/2 HSPA and WLAN, 5 MP camera with tag cloud user interface and Carl Zeiss optics.

Speaking at the event, said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo,, CEO of Nokia: “Nokia sees TD-SCDMA as being central to the successful evolution of 3G in China, and so is fully committed to this 3G standard. The Jucu factory facility incorporates a range of innovative and sustainable features including: Energy saving – The factory deploys a range of energy saving features including a thermal envelope around the core of the building, high efficiency glazing, reduced lighting power density, and occupancy sensors to manage heat and lighting. These features enable the building to use over 25% less energy than a standard building.
Water usage – By installing a range of water saving devices and systems such as flow limiters the overall use of water at the Nokia building is over 30% less than at a standard building.
Recycling – Reducing the environmental footprint of the factory has been considered both during its construction and ongoing operations. Around 30% of the materials used to construct the factory were made from recycled materials and additional ones sourced locally. Additionally, around half of the construction waste was reclaimed and recycled. The USGBC also recognized Nokia’s best practice waste management system, including dedicated

Katshing, one of the most popular online shops in Sweden has been sending out emails to everyone that has pre-ordered the Nokia N900. It looks like Maemo 5 beast will not be released in Sweden this year. You can read the full email after the jump.

It also offers core features such as the ability to call people on their Friends lists, manage Facebook profiles, confirm Friend requests, Upload and tag photos, update statuses and more. Microsoft said a version of its Facebook app will be automatically loaded with new Windows Mobile 6.5 devices when they are released later this year.
