Doing an Xbox 360 E73 doesn't have to be hard. It might seem hopeless when you first got it when playing your favorite game but there are some ways you can try yourself. Also you are not by yourself in this problem Microsoft has a huge problem with the Xbox having issues from your typical one red light to 3 red lights.
Some things to try before you call Microsoft or throw away your Xbox (at least you want at the moment) is to follow a couple guidelines.
#1. The first thing is to try and unplug the power cable and let it sit for a while and let it cool down. When it has cooled down simply plug it back in and start her up again. Also make sure you have enough space for the power brick to get air flow.
#2. The next one is really easy and can be overlooked by people all the time. Check all cable connections to make sure they are all connected properly and that they are not damaged.
#3. The last thing you should try is remove the hard drive and power it up when it is not connected and see of that works at all.
If none of these work for you than the next Xbox 360 E73 fix I would try is a little more depth. There are guides available with pictures and videos to show how to fix this problem along with a host of other ones like the E74 error, 3 red lights, and E71 error code. I did this personally with my Xbox 360 and have never looked back. The main reason why I choose to do it myself was that I did not want to send it in and wait for weeks if not months for Microsoft to fix it.
